A four-year-old was murdered after rape in Kohat’s Khatak Colony on Wednesday.
Her family claimed that the child had gone missing while playing outside her house. The family looked for her everywhere and then filed a missing person complaint at the area police station.
The child’s body was found in a nullah the next day. The nullah was located two kilometres away from her house.
The police sent her body for a postmortem examination at the DHQ Hospital. The doctors said that there were torture marks on the child’s neck and chest.
The child’s family staged a protest on the University Road on Thursday and demanded justice. The DIG assured them that suspects will be arrested soon.
On Friday, the victim’s medical reports proved the assault. “There are bruise marks on multiple parts of her body,” said Dr Sarwat, the medical officer. She added that the child was strangled to death.
The four-year-old has been laid to rest in a Karak graveyard.
The police have detained 40 people in the case and collected DNA samples of 50 men.
Kohat DPO assured the family said that they will soon get justice.
